Queens School Enugu, since 2012-till date has experienced some remarkable improvements as a result of conscious, dedicated efforts of the staff and management, through the support and encouragement of our old girls association from so many chapters both at home and in diaspora.
It may interest you to know that since after the 60th anniversary of the school which took place in May, 2014 at Queen’ School Enugu, there has been a rekindled interest and passion on the part of members, which has resulted to contributions and assistance to the school. Furthermore, the frequent visitations and interactions with students by the Old girls from various branches to speak and mentor the students, has resulted to overall change of attitude by the students, as they now look up and aspire to be like you all in the future.

ACADEMICS
Firstly in academics, which will always remained our core values, we have excelled, just like in the past, in so many competitions. For instance, in 2015, our student, Miss Attah Kosisochukwu came 2nd in the All Nigeria Confederation of Principals of Secondary School (ANCOPSS), South East zonal essay competition.
In the last academic session (2014-15), Miss Miracle Dike came 2nd in South East Nigeria ICT competition and won a Compact printer, Scanner and other personal prizes. Miss Amarachi Tete, represented Enugu State in Essay writing competition organized by National Festival of Arts in Calabar, Nigeria and came 2nd . She came home with the only trophy that came to Enugu State. (This is just to mention a few).

SPORTS
In the area of sports, the School has also excelled and won a lot of laurels at both zonal and state levels. In 2014, we came first in Hand ball and second position in both volley ball and basket ball. Our school also came first in female football in the state and overall second position in Enugu State sports completion. Similarly, first position in March-past during state functions has become a routine and a culture which must remain in Queens School. Furthermore, our prestigious cultural dance (EGWU-TORCH) has been revived and is now making waves in the state and entire south-east zone. We emerged as the best dance group during the “Oja” Cultural competition, organized by the State Ministry of Tourism. (This is just to mention a few).
All these laudable achievements have given the school a new face lift/envy of all and would not have been possible without your support.

CHALLENGES
Despite the contributions by the Old girls associations both at Nigeria and Diaspora, we are still faced with a number of challenges.
- Firstly, most of our Hostels are currently at various degrees of dilapidation, with some Hostels requiring total rehabilitation. These would enable more students to have access to the boarding facility.
- Another area of importance is the kitchen and Dining section. Although the USA branch has done the roof early this year, there is need for a modern dinning equipments, kitchen utensils, sets of dining chairs and tables for students’ use to be provided. Furthermore, the kitchen section needs industrial gas cooker with cylinders to replace firewood, which may not be sustainable in the nearest future.
- Water supply is another area that needs urgent attention. We still get our water though Tanker drivers from Ninth-Mile corner Enugu for use.
